What is the Egyptian Environmental Education Forum?

The Egyptian Environmental Education Forum (EEEF) is an independent network of individuals and institutions with a shared interest in Environmental Education (EE) in Egypt.  Although EE is a relatively new topic here, already a great deal of good work is being done to advance EE by a variety of stakeholders representing all sectors of society. Many opportunities and challenges present themselves as these various stakeholders attempt to improve and increase EE opportunities in their schools and communities. The future of EE in Egypt depends on the plans and collective actions that are taken today. Now through the EEE Forum all individuals and institutions with an interest and role in EE have an opportunity to network and work together for the benefit of everyone.

What is the mission of the Egyptian Environmental Education Forum?

The EEEF aims to promote quality EE by improving access to information and resources, and by encouraging collaborative action in the EE sector among the variety of EE stakeholders so that the people of Egypt may become increasingly environmentally aware.

It is hoped that by establishing this website and enabling all interested parties to 1) network effectively on environmental education as a topic, 2) focus on “common ground” objectives and 3) undertake collaborative initiatives, EE can be institutionalized as a pillar of education for sustainable development at the national level, defining  Egypt as a leader of EE in the region.
